Ingredients
- 4–5 pound turkey breast, bone-in, skin-on
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Onion quarters, lemon slices, orange slices for aromatics
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter with lemon zest, orange zest, rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Gently loosen the skin on the turkey breast and spread half of the herb butter mixture underneath. Rub the remaining butter all over the exterior.
- Stuff onion quarters inside the cavity and arrange lemon and orange slices around and inside the turkey.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast for about 1 hour 40 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), basting every 30 minutes.
- Let rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
