Instructions

  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract and kosher salt until well combined.
  5. Gradually add flour one cup at a time; mix until just incorporated.
  6. Press two-thirds of the dough into the prepared pan evenly across the bottom.
  7. Spread fresh cranberries over the dough, then mix chopped walnuts into the remaining dough and scatter on top.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before baking.
  9. Bake for 42-45 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  10. Let cool for at least 10-20 minutes before cutting into squares.
