- 2 rings (13 ounces each) turkey sausage, sliced into ¼-inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, chopped
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cans Great Northern white beans, rinsed and drained
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil. Once hot, add turkey sausage slices and brown on both sides for about 7-9 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter and sauté chopped onions, diced carrots, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until onions are translucent (10-12 minutes).
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir well; cook for an additional minute.
- Gradually pour in chicken broth and whole milk while stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
- Return browned sausage to the pot along with rinsed beans; simmer until thickened (15-20 minutes).
