- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk (warm)
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter (for laminating)
- 7 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Glaze ingredients: powdered sugar, milk or lemon juice
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit until foamy. Combine all ingredients to form dough.

- Cut final dough into squares, fill with cream cheese mixture, shape as desired, and let rise on baking sheets for one hour.
- Preheat oven to 390°F (200°C) and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk or lemon juice.
