Ingredients
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 pound ground beef, cooked and seasoned (or ground turkey or plant-based beef)
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced pickles
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 pound ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes. Break it up with a spatula as it browns. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Chop iceberg lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Dice tomato, finely chop onion and pickles, and shred cheddar cheese. Toss all these ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, yellow mustard, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasonings according to your taste preferences.
- Add cooked ground beef to the bowl with veggies and cheese. Pour special sauce over everything. Toss gently but thoroughly to coat evenly.
- Divide salad onto plates or bowls. Optionally sprinkle extra shredded cheese or pickle slices on top. Serve immediately for best crunch and flavor.
