  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup warmed whole milk (105°f to 110°f)
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warmed whole milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add granulated sugar, melted unsalted butter, salt, and the egg to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour while stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. In a bowl, mix diced fresh strawberries with strawberry preserves and granulated sugar until combined.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Once risen, punch down the dough gently and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  9. Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  10. Starting from one edge of the rectangle, roll up the dough tightly into a log shape.
  11. Cut into equal pieces (about 12) and place them cut side up on a lined baking sheet.
  12. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. While rolls bake, beat together softened cream cheese, softened butter, confectioners' sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  14. Once rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and drizzle glaze over while still warm.
