Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warmed whole milk (105°f to 110°f)
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warmed whole milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add granulated sugar, melted unsalted butter, salt, and the egg to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour while stirring until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In a bowl, mix diced fresh strawberries with strawberry preserves and granulated sugar until combined.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Once risen, punch down the dough gently and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Starting from one edge of the rectangle, roll up the dough tightly into a log shape.
- Cut into equal pieces (about 12) and place them cut side up on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- While rolls bake, beat together softened cream cheese, softened butter, confectioners' sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and drizzle glaze over while still warm.
