- 12 oz ribeye or sirloin steak
- 8 oz lo mein or fettuccine noodles
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt and black pepper and let it rest at room temperature for 15–20 minutes.
- Boil water in a pot and cook the noodles according to package instructions; reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for 3–4 minutes on each side, then let it rest before slicing.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over low heat, add minced garlic, and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil; simmer briefly before tossing in the cooked noodles. Use reserved pasta water if needed to adjust consistency.
- Slice the rested steak thinly and serve over the noodles, garnishing with fresh herbs.
