Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix yeast with warm water; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and salt; cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in milk, egg yolks, and yeast mixture until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Cover and chill dough in the refrigerator for 8 to 24 hours.
  5. On a floured surface, divide dough into four portions; pat each into rectangles and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Cut rectangles into strips, twist them, then coil around themselves.
  7. Prepare filling by beating cream cheese with sugar and egg yolk until smooth; fill each pastry indentation.
