- 2–1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine milk, water, sour cream, butter, sugar, salt, flour, baking soda, chives, and yeast.
- Stir until the mixture forms a cohesive dough; add more flour if sticky.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a kitchen towel; let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the risen dough gently; shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover again with the kitchen towel; allow to rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for approximately 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks; allow to cool completely before slicing.
