- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup pure honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, rinse, and pat dry.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder.
- Set up a breading station: mix flour and cornstarch in one bowl; beat the egg in another.
- Dip each chicken piece in the flour mix, then the egg wash, and back into the flour mix for double coverage.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet until shimmering. Fry breaded chicken pieces until golden brown (5-7 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ginger powder, and rice vinegar. Pour over fried chicken in the skillet on low heat and toss to coat.
- Serve hot with any leftover sauce drizzled on top.
