Instructions
- Prepare strawberries by mixing them with 1 tablespoon of sugar and letting them sit to release juices.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Add milk and vanilla; combine with dry ingredients.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to a rectangle. Spread the softened cream cheese mixed with sugar over the dough.
- Evenly distribute macerated strawberries on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into one-inch pieces.
- Place rolls upright in a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
