- 6 large eggs
- 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
- 1 (14 oz) can condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
- Hot water (for the water bath)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Fill a large baking dish halfway with hot water and place it in the oven.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of sugar until golden brown. Quickly pour the caramel into the bottom of your baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl or blender, combine the eggs, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Carefully pour the flan mixture over the hardened caramel in your baking dish.
- Bake in the water bath for about 50 minutes or until set.
- Allow to cool at room temperature before refrigerating for several hours or overnight. To serve, invert onto a plate so that the caramel sauce flows over.
