  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g butter (room temperature) for frosting
  • 660 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp freeze-dried strawberry powder
  • 23 tbsp whole milk (room temperature)
  • Fresh strawberries for decoration
  • Lemon slices for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and lining them.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate sour cream, vegetable oil, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for about 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  6. For the frosting, beat room temperature butter with powdered sugar until smooth; mix in strawberry powder and milk to achieve the desired consistency.
