Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries by hulling and slicing them, then mix with granulated sugar and set aside to macerate.

- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined.

- Allow shortcakes to cool slightly before whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
