Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small carrot, diced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ½ cup beef broth
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 unbaked pie crusts (9-inch)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add onion, garlic, and carrot; cook until soft.
- Stir in flour until well combined. Gradually add beef broth and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Place one pie crust in a pie plate; pour in the filling. Cover with the second crust and crimp edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
