- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 20 oz can apple pie filling (diced)
- 1 1/2 cups toffee chips (divided)
- 1 1/4 cups caramel sauce (divided)
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and vegetable oil until well mixed. Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture while alternating with whole milk until fully combined.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared dish. Spread half of the apple pie filling and sprinkle half of the toffee chips over it. Top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for about 35–40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- While still warm, poke holes in the top of the cake and pour one cup of caramel sauce over it.
- Allow to cool completely before topping with whipped cream, remaining caramel sauce, and extra toffee chips.
