Instructions

  2. Cover dough and let rise in a warm area for about 2 hours until doubled in size.
  3. For the custard, heat milk with vanilla seeds and half the sugar until steaming. Whisk remaining sugar, egg yolks, and cornstarch; gradually add hot milk. Cook until thickened, then cool.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Punch down risen dough, portion it out, flatten each piece, fill with custard and chocolate chips, fold to seal.
