- 2 1/2–3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 7 tablespoons salted butter
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water or milk, yeast, and honey. Let sit until bubbly (5–10 minutes).
- Add flour, salt, and 1 tablespoon butter; knead until smooth (about 3–4 minutes). Allow dough to rise covered in a warm place until doubled (1–2 hours).
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 16×14 inches), spread with remaining butter and sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Add chocolate chips on one half of the dough, fold over, cut into strips, twist into knots, and place on the baking sheet.
- Prepare the topping by combining melted butter with brown sugar and additional cinnamon; spoon over knots.
- Bake for about 16–20 minutes until golden brown.
