Instructions

  1. Prepare the yeast mixture by combining lukewarm milk, water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until foamy.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine flour, eggs, salt, and the yeast mixture. Knead until elastic and smooth, then incorporate butter.
  3. Allow the dough to rise covered for about 1 – 1½ hours.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into heart shapes; let rise again until tripled in size.
  5. Heat oil and fry doughnuts until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Dust with sugar and fill with your favorite filling.
